Posted November 29, 2001 in Passages

dougcomp1.jpgRide for Life is sad to announce the death of a truly great person, Doug Eshleman, who quietly died from ALS on November 28.

Doug, who was only 43, leaves behind his best friend and wife Irene, his 20 year-old son Dan, and a legacy of his tireless and selfless efforts to help others with ALS throughhis website ALS Survival Guide.

Doug's website, also known as www.lougehrigsdisease.net , has helped countless ALS patients and their families learn how to live with ALS by providing the most comprehensive and concise information about the disease on the Internet. The website was a labor of love and hope for Doug who continued to work on it right until he died.

It is our hope that Doug's website will stay online so it can continue his mission of providing empowerment through knowledge to ALS patients and their families.

If you have never visited Doug's website, you can do so now by clicking the link above. Among the detailed information on all aspects of living with ALS, you'll find Doug's Journal, an inspiring personal account of his daily battle with ALS. Our condolences to his family and friends.
