Posted October 5, 2002 in ALS News

On Thursday, October 3, "Wings Over Wall Street" 2002, a major ALS research fundraiser sponsored Credit Suisse First Boston, raised over 1.9 million dollars for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

mikebeier.jpgPALS Mike Beier, a two year Ride for Life veteran, teamed up with the MDA and PALS Toni Diamond, a United Airlines flight attendant, to host their second annual "Wings" ALS fundraiser.

toni.jpgBeier drew upon his network of business associates from the financial district in Manhattan, where he works for Credit Suisse First Boston.

Over 1,700, including many celebrities and star atheletes, attended the gala held at the Marriott Marquis in New York's Times Square. The evening featured a cocktail reception with live, silent, and research minute auctions.

All of the money raised will go directly to the Robert Packard center for ALS research at Johns Hopkins, and the ALS research center at Columbia Presbyterian.

Congratulations to Mike, Toni and everyone involved in making "Wings Over Wallstreet" a tremendous success.

Ride for Life will be featuring more details, as well as photographs of the event as they become available.
