ReGen Therapeutics PLC, a company developing Colostrinin as a potential treatment for Alzheimer's disease, said it may carry out research into the use of Colostrinin for other medical treatments.

Ongoing research has suggested that Colostrinin may have efficacy in the prevention and/or treatment of other diseases including: Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's Disease and Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (Lou Gehrig's Disease).

The company stressed that it has not, at this stage, conducted any specific research into the effect of Colostrinin on these diseases. It stated that, in view of the  significant degree of unmet medical need they represent it will consider research into these areas at the appropriate time, possibly in collaboration with a development partner.
