  No miracle in China for ALS patients

Six months later, for some ALS patients who traveled to China for controversial fetal stem cell surgery, the excitement has diminished, if not fled altogether. The patients are realizing that what the surgeon said all along is true -- the procedure is not a cure. Not only did it not cure them, but, with some exceptions, any benefit they gained was temporary.
