  Evergreen Park, IL Support Group
Posted January 11, 2006 in Support Groups

The Les Turner ALS Foundation is pleased to announce the formation of a new ALS support group in Evergreen Park, IL. The group will meet from 10 a.m. to noon the third Saturday of every month at Little Company of Mary Hospital (2800 West 95th Street, Evergreen Park, IL). The first meeting is Saturday, January 21, 2006.

The group will be facilitated by Laurie B. Fieldman, LCSW, Director of Social Services and Shari Diamond, BSN, ALS Nurse Consultant. Laurie has been the Foundation’s social worker and a support group leader since 1996. Shari was the first nurse coordinator at the Lois Insolia ALS Center at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. After several years at home with her children, Shari returned to the Foundation staff in 2005 in the newly created position of ALS Nurse Consultant.

The support group provides people with ALS (PALS) the opportunity to meet with others living with the disease as well as to utilize the expertise of the group leaders. PALS, family members, friends and caregivers are welcome.

For directions to Little Company of Mary, call the hospital directly at 708-422-6200. There is free parking on California Avenue. PALS may be dropped off at the front entrance.

Particularly during the winter months, we request you RSVP to Claire Owen, Director of Patient Services at cowen@lesturnerals.org or 847-679-3311 so that we can notify you if the meeting needs to be canceled due to weather conditions.
