Ride for Life 2007
Ride for Life started in 1998 when a small group of patients rode their electric wheelchairs over 350 miles from Yankee Stadium to Washington D.C. to call attention to ALS and the needs of those living with the disease.
Ride for Life 2007 began on Saturday, April 28th from the historic lighthouse in Montauk, on the tip of Long Island, and concluded on Sunday, May 6th at St. Paul’s Chapel on the grounds of Columbia University. ALS patients, joined by family and friends, rode their electric wheelchairs for 10 days and over 150 miles to once again call attention the disease and raise funds for a cure.
Over the past 10 years, Ride for Life has raised nearly $2 million dollars to help researchers find a cure and to provide much needed patient services.
