This uplifting and emotional video from News12 Long Island was broadcast last year as a 30 minute news special called &quot;The Road to a Cure.&quot; It features the highlights of Ride for Life 2005, an annual event in which ALS ride their electric wheelchairs down the highways and through the neighborhoods to raise funds for a cure and create awareness for the disease. 

During Ride for Life 2005, ALS patients along with family and friends, traveled for 9 days and over 150 miles from the streets of Manhattan to the shores of Montauk, on the tip of Long Island and raised almost $300,000 for research and patient services programs.  

Special thanks again to News12 Long Island for all their support.
